International “Student Research Competition” award to undergraduate student of AUEB’s Department of Management Science and Technology

Michalis Loukeris, undergraduate student of AUEB’s Department of Management Science and Technology (DMST), received a “Student Research Competition” award for his paper entitled "Efficient Computing in a Safe Environment", which was conducted under the supervision of Stephanos Georgiou, PhD student at DMST.

The distinction was accomplished within the framework of  27th ACM Joint Meeting on European Software Engineering Conference and Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (ESEC/FSE), held in Tallinn, from 26th to 30th of August.

The award-winning paper addresses the improvement in computing and energy efficiency that can be achieved by operating computing infrastructures in a safe environment which protects against malicious attacks.

Moreover the papers of Marios Papachristou, student at School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Charalambos Mitropoulos, postgraduate student at MSc in Information Systems, both Business Analytics Laboratory’ associates, were selected to the semi-finals round.
