Dr Fotios Karamitroglou has been a full-time teaching staff member at Athens University of Economics and Business since 2002. He holds a BA in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc in Translation Studies from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, and a PhD in Language Engineering from the same institution in Britain.

He is a member of various professional associations like the British Institute of Linguists and the British Institute of Translation & Interpreting; his postgraduate studies were funded by the Greek State Scholarships' Foundation (Ι.Κ.Υ.).

Prior to -and during- his tenure at Athens University of Economics and Business, Dr Fotios Karamitroglou has also taught at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of English Studies, as well as at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of English Language and Literature; he has also served as postgraduate tutor to students of translation at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, as well as external examiner to the English/Greek translation courses at the University of Salford.

Dr Fotios Karamitroglou has presented various papers in renowned conferences, has published sundry articles in reputed journals and has written a number of books, including the coursebook Essential Business Terminology for Native Speakers of Greek used at AUEB.

Dr Fotios Karamitroglou has translated a multitude of business/financial documents -amongst which Annual Reports and Articles of Association– and has subtitled a range of audiovisual products, such as feature films, documentaries, series etc.

Apart from Business Terminology, his research interests comprise Translation Studies, Financial Translation, Audiovisual Translation and Intercultural Communication.
