Remote Services

A. REMOTE SERVICES

Due to the special circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Library encourages community members to use more of its electronic services before deciding on a visit to its premises. In detail, the Library & Information Centre of AUEB offers:

A.1 Digital library

The use of subscribed digital resources offered by the Library and the Hellenic Academic Libraries Association is strongly advised by using the VPN service for remote access. Continuous information on subscribed sources, new electronic sources offered temporarily with open access, as well as the new online services of the Library is provided by  library's website

A.2 VPN

VPN offers to university users who are off campus the opportunity  to have access to the digital library through a secure virtual connection. Remote access to the AUEB’s digital library is only possible through the VPN service.

A.3 Educational seminars

The informative seminars addressed to the students of AUEB, on the use of the Library’s services and sources, are conducted online through the platform used by the University for the online courses at a specific time and day communicated by the Administration Office of Departments. Online help regarding the use of services and resources is also provided from the Library’s staff, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12:00-14:00.

Loan service is carried out by appointment

Interlibrary loan service for printed books is carried out by appointment

A.6 Deposit of works

The deposit of postgraduate papers and doctoral theses at the PYXIDA Institutional Repository is carried out exclusively with electronic submission. A deposit certificate is sent electronically by the Library to depositors who should forward it to their Secretariat  for completion of self-deposit process.

A.7 Certificates that no books or fine are due to the Library

Certificates that no books or fines are due to the Library, for those students who have completed their studies, are issued by the Loan Office and are sent to the Secretariats of Departments.

A.8 Registration of new members

The registration of a new member is made electronically upon completion of the relevant application and is completed with the demonstration of the academic identity card on the day of attendance.

A.9 Access to disabled students

With the help of the accessible multimodal electronic library AmeLib, personalised access is offered for students facing vision problems in accessible Greek academic textbooks. Access to the service requires user authentication. AUEB students who have serious visual impairment fill in the online application form in order to be certified and get the password to the service.

A.10 Contact with the Library

The communication with the Library and the service of the public continues to take place at any time, via the “Ask a Librarian” service,  by telephone on Monday - Friday 8:30 - 16:00 and live via Teams platform, every Monday,Wednesday and Friday, 12:00-14:00. Faculty members are also offered assistance in the use of plagiarism software.

For requests of the public regarding donation of printed books, the communication is made electronically upon completion of the online application form  following the procedures described in our donation policy.

 

Local Services

B. LOCAL SERVICES

We inform you that according to greek legislation, the use of Library's infrastructure for individual study will not be allowed until Monday, 30 August 2021. The lending & interlibrary loan services are carried out by appointment .

An appointment for returns of printed material and returns of EVDOXOS  textbooks to the Library that have been mistakenly taken , is not required.

It is necessary to keep a 1.5 m. distance and use a non-medical mask. 

 

Each protection measure will be reviewed at regular basis in accordance with epidemiological data of the disease, instructions of the National Public Health Organization and the Greek Government.
